The World's Largest Chariot Festival

The Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) of Puri is one of the most spectacular religious events in the world. Held annually in June or July, millions of devotees gather to witness Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra being taken in massive wooden chariots from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple, 3 km away.

Rath Yatra 2026 Expected Dates

The exact dates are determined by the Hindu calendar (Ashadha Shukla Dwitiya). The 2026 Rath Yatra is expected to be held in late June or early July. The festival spans 9 days, from the main Rath Yatra to the Bahuda Yatra (return journey).

Note: Dates are announced officially by the Jagannath Temple administration. We recommend checking closer to the date for confirmation.
